Advance Fire Services was founded in 1976 and in 1982 Ken Lawn joined the firm as a service engineer.

Six years later in 1988 Ken bought out the company and became chief executive. After years of expanding the business and buying out smaller companies we are now one of the leading fire protection companies in Yorkshire and are still growing.

We are a family run business based in York specialising in the field of fire safety. We maintain and install Fire Alarm Systems, Emergency Lighting, Portable Fire Extinguishers and Security with a wide range of custom made fire safety signs.

We also provide fire talks and on site staff training to all businesses.

With over 30 years of experience in Fire Detection, Prevention and Security we cover North, West, South, Hull & East Yorkshire / Humberside and Northern England (Newcastle down to Derby, Sheffield, Nottingham, Lincoln and from the East Coast to West). We offer a 24 hour emergency call out service (7 days a week) if needed.

We are specialists in what we do, offering expert advice to keep our customers compliant with the current British Standard regulations. We take great care in our work and service to a very high standard but with low servicing charges.

In 1991 we were the very first business to be have been awarded 'The Small Business of The Year Award' by The Press (formerly The Evening Press) in York.

In 2000 we were awarded 'The Consumers Choice Award' for our continuing quality of service and growing success.
